Revelation
Haunted for so long by a being unknown,
Drowning in the pool of red; flesh and bone.
On a journey to find the master alone,
Hunting down one after another; all its clones.
Strengthening my body, rewiring my mind,
Every step is crucial, no looking behind,
Refusing to break, to kneel, to lose my will,
Sharpening the sword everyday for one last kill.
once I unearth the answers I seek,
What drew it to me? What joy did it find in my grief?
At times, I falter; looking for the easy way out,
Be its slave; let the poison smother all my doubts
Yet I refuse to cower, not even from death,
the battle will continue until my last breath.
When I reach the cause and face the truth,
shocked to see behind the mask, facing my own youth.
Not a monster, not a foe, but a child I used to be,
Staring back with eyes that once were full of glee.
revealing untreated wounds imprinted on our soul,
a voice, softer than I remember, calls out to me-
heal yourself, set us free, hold my hand and let us be whole.
